RE:RE - From Restart, Reborn and Renew
The name of the new RE:RE sole came from restart, reborn and renew. Evolving from b o t h’s signature GAO sole, RE:RE has a sophisticated silhouette and is much flatter than GAO with a rounder toe cap.
The sole is made of lightweight EVA with contrasted rubber inserts in the heel to create a colour blocking aesthetic. The new take on the sole makes it very light and easy to walk in, embedded with an anti-slip characteristic.
Another new feature in the RE:RE collection is the distinctive metal moth ornament, used to adorn the moccasin loafer, moccasin boot and maryjane highlighting the moth, symbol of rebirth and novelty.
The RE:RE shoes were inspired by the pacific northwest << slacker style >>. Through extensive vintage research into 90s footwear, the line aims to translate the authenticity key to the Seattle look, in the footsteps of cult footwear designers such as Steven Madden, Patrick Cox and Calvin Klein.
